Tucson has over a dozen of foster licensing agencies and a lively foster parent community. While I became licensed quite quickly (~3 months), I did not decide to take in my first full-time placement until two years after. Sadly, I had to prioritize tenure preparation over my desire to have a family. Foster parenting is not easy, but I can say that it has brought much more love into my life.
